French Open Men’s Singles SF
Let’s be honest here: it’s not hard to bet online on Rafael Nadal at this point of the contest, right?
We always love seeing history unfurl before our very eyes, and our favourite King of Clay is two wins away from etching his name into the tennis annals. Of course, Andy Murray can still spoil the party for Nadal’s online betting supporters if Stan Wawrinka can’t stop the Brit.
We’ve got three games left in the French Open, and you can count on the betting odds to provide as much excitement as the top-class action delivered at Roland Garros!
Andy Murray vs Stanislas Wawrinka
Murray may be the better-ranked player compared to Wawrinka, but the Swiss Wawrinka is booked with a -1.50 handicap for 2.42. Wawrinka is a clay-court specialist who thrives on the clay. He beat the Scot on three out of the four clay-court matches they played.
However, Murray did make the French Open final last year, only to fall to Novak Djokovic. The Briton is highly motivated to win it all this year, so it won’t be a bad idea to put your faith (and bets) on Murray +1.50 @ 1.54.
Rafael Nadal vs Dominic Thiem
This is the third time Nadal and Thiem will square off in the tail-end of a clay-court tournament this season, and the Spaniard is the heavy favourite to win. Nadal held off Thiem in Barcelona and Madrid before falling victim to the Austrian in the Rome Masters quarter-finals.
Both players won their prior games in straight sets, but it is Nadal who consistently won in a convincing fashion. Thiem had 7-6 sets peppered in his run and is bound to hit a wall when he faces Nadal. Unless the Austrian repeats his feats in Rome (and believers can bet on Thiem +1.50 @ 2.47), it’s a no-brainer for many to punt on Nadal with his -1.50 handicap for 1.52.
