The show must go on indeed!
Despite all the live betting drama and calls for the rescheduling of the Chinese Grand Prix due to bad weather conditions, the race will still push through this Sunday with the top drivers ready to bring their A-game for more online betting thrill.
Due to the unforeseen weather circumstances as well as poor visibility, concerns about safety regulations have been raised by both teams and drivers. However, the FIA ruled out moving the race to a different day, giving the excited sports betting fans some sort of relief.
Chinese Grand Prix
The focus of the race, once again, will be on the two constructors – Ferrari and Mercedes – whose drivers fought out an exhilarating race in Melbourne.
That race proved that Ferrari’s new-and-improved engine wasn’t all for show, and Sebastian Vettel will certainly look to take advantage of it at the Shanghai International Circuit to widen the gap on the World Championship standing.
And after he and team-mate Kimi Raikkonen showed what they got in their one-two finish in the final practice race, they are certainly expected to impress again.
Of course, Lewis Hamilton will be the usual tough opponent he is; and following his qualifying win for the pole position, he will be a more dangerous opponent for the Ferrari drivers.
There is also the other Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas, who – at third in the starting grid – has proven that he can keep up with Hamilton.
Nonetheless, the race won’t just be about the two teams and their drivers. Not in this Shanghai track where overtaking is the norm.
Last year’s race featured a record number of overtakes and that trend is expected to continue with the circuit boasting its high-speed straights which can give those at the back row some crucial overtaking opportunities.
Hence, the other top-10 qualifiers like Felipe Massa, Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat and Lance Stroll can exploit that area to get to the front.
Another team to watch out for in the event is the Red Bull who are supposedly the ones threatening Mercedes this 2017. Daniel Ricciardo will undoubtedly aim to get at least a podium finish, but he is his team’s best bet with Max Verstappen left behind at 19th after encountering an engine problem in the qualifying.
Sure enough, there’s a lot more to expect in China in a race that could well be wet which can also be a deciding factor for the outcome.
