Ten Players to Rip Up the Premier League

With less than two weeks to wait until the start of the 2019/20 Premier League season, the excitement in England and around the world is mounting. And I for one just can’t wait!

We’ll be here, day after day, with all the very latest Premier League 2019 news as the goals go in, the saves are made, as the red mist falls and players take an early bath and stadiums erupt the length of breadth of the country, from Newcastle to Bournemouth.

Some of the best players on the planet will excite and dazzle, so let’s take a look at ten who I reckon could rip it up in the new season.

Bernardo Silva (24): Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has improved his team year on year, and amidst the stellar signings he has made, Portuguese attacking midfielder Silva has made the Etihad his home. Initially, in the shadow of his namesake David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, Silva came into his own last season and how! With De Bruyne out injured for long spells, Silva had the time to showcase his pace, skill and eye for goal, linking up particularly well with Aguero. Still only 24 years old I think he’ll go from strength to strength, as City start the new season with Premier League 2019 betting odds predicting more glory.

Andrew Robertson (25): Liverpool

As one of the Premier League’s most prolific assist makers, Robertson is the full wing back package and was one of the major reasons Liverpool pushed City so hard in the league while winning a sixth Champions League. The bargain signing from Hull City wants to keep on improving and that’s the mantra of his boss Jurgen Klopp. He’ll do well to match his performance of last season, but the Scot has plenty of determination and one of the most dangerous crosses in the league.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (19): Chelsea

One of Frank Lampard’s priorities on arriving at Stamford Bridge was to ensure none of his remaining golden assets followed Eden Hazard out of the exit door and Chelsea fans will be delighted that this young wide player has committed himself to the club. In March he was the youngest player to make his debut in a competitive England match, against the Czech Republic and has already said he wants to take Hazard’s number 10 shirt.

Tanguy Ndombele (22): Spurs

Spurs fans have been very patient in terms of player recruitment, while their club has concentrated on making a new home at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So the signing of the Lyon midfielder for a club record of £63m has been greeted by fanfares in North London. A strong midfielder he has already made his debut for France, coming on as a substitute for Paul Pogba in a friendly last year. He attracted Manchester City’s attention so this could be a master signing for Spurs.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (30): Arsenal

Since his £56m transfer from Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of 2018, this Gabon international has become a firm favourite at the Emirates, making the centre forward position his own. He has formed a potent partnership with Alexandre Lacazette and his pace and exquisite finishing took him to joint top scorer in the Premier League in his first full season.

Daniel James (21): Manchester United

After suffering a dreadful season Red Devils fans are hoping for a return to the glory days before too long. The £15m signing of James from Championship club Swansea City didn’t grab the headlines but the flying winger has settled in superbly. James has been a feature in Manchester United’s pre-season success, and while these are early days, his tough attitude to rough treatment and his ability to leave a full back for dead makes him look like a Manchester United player.

Richarlison (22): Everton

This young Brazilian seems to have been around the Premier League for a while after a stint at Watford and a first season at Everton, and he was named in Brazil’s recent Copa America squad. So it’s easy to forget he’s still learning his trade. Marco Silva is putting together a squad capable of challenging for Europe and Richarlison certainly has the quality. He’s ready to step up from being a dangerous striker to a deadly one.

Youri Tielemans (22) Leicester City

Ever since winning the Premier League in 2016 expectations at the King Power Stadium have been rather higher than usual. The departure of the Foxes’ best players N’Golo Kante to Chelsea and Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City has left Leicester short of match-winning quality, but in his loan spell last season Tielemans was a revelation, and Brendan Rodgers has signed the attacking midfield player on a four-year deal.

Dwight McNeill (19): Burnley

Burnley fans have been getting excited by the return of homegrown hero Jay Rodriguez, but another academy star got the pulses racing at Turf Moor last season. Dwight McNeill emerged on the scene and became the highest teenage assister in any league in Europe since the turn of the year. He can terrorize the most experienced of defenders with his mazy runs and clinical delivery and will be a big source of supply for the returning Rodriguez.

Jack Grealish (23): Aston Villa

The Villains are back in the Premier League and there’s no-one happier about that than midfield star Jack Grealish. The lifelong Villa fan had his best season at the club since his debut some six years ago and if he can keep his head in the tough times ahead he’ll be a real asset once again. Our SBOBET odds give Aston Villa the best chance of survival of the three promoted clubs and Grealish is one big reason why.
