Belgium vs Czech Republic
The Czech Republic are visiting Belgium on Tuesday, looking for a third consecutive win over their hosts… but I just can’t see it.
Betting tips point to a comfortable home win; and our Asian Handicap Betting offer gives Belgium a -1.00 handicap for odds of 1.84 and the Czechs at 2.08 with that advantage.
And why’s that? Belgium, ranked seventh in the world, lead the World Cup qualifying group H after winning their first four games. They also boast a rich array of talent, including Premier League stars Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Vincent Kompany.
But the Belgians aren’t flawless. After that winning run, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku had to hit an 89th-minute equaliser against nine-man Greece to help Roberto Martinez’ team retain top spot.
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic sit third in group C, two points behind Northern Ireland and seven behind leaders Germany. They face a difficult trip to Norway next week, while Belgium visit Estonia.
This is a good warm-up for both teams, which have been free-scoring, albeit against modest opposition. If you think there’ll be goals here, then a bet on over 2.75 yields odds of 2.03.
Karel Jarolim’s team has reaped rewards against Belgium in recent years with two wins, and Martinez will want to put that right in front of home fans. How much exposure the superstars Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard will get remains to be seen; but if the game isn’t won on the hour mark, I suspect they’ll be on the pitch.
