It’s the most exciting battle for the Premier League Top Four in some time and we have, among others, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to thank for that.
Four places to go between five, possibly six, teams make an exciting puzzle for football betting fans. Liverpool have been playing football games with attacking flair and winning most of them. Likewise Spurs. So with Manchester City home and hosed, one of Manchester United and Chelsea could be in real trouble.
WEEK 28 SATURDAY:
Leicester City vs Stoke City
The Foxes are hot on Burnley’s heels in the hunt for a Europa place, and they face another team which wasn’t expected to struggle… but certainly is. Paul Lambert’s Potters are in 19th place and have lost the last four away, so could be easy prey for 13-goal Jamie Vardy.
Liverpool vs West Ham United
The Reds always give live betting players a good game, with their ability to score, and sometimes concede goals at a frightening rate. The recent 2-2 draw with Spurs was a classic but they have won three of the last four, scoring 10 and conceding none. West Ham are climbing out of trouble but may hit a wall at Anfield.
Burnley vs Southampton
If at the start of the season you were to guess which team would be in a relegation scrap and which in the top seven, you’d have got it wrong! The Saints are in 18th and in desperate trouble while the Clarets, after a tough run of fixtures, haven’t won in ten, but they do have key players due back from injury.
Bournemouth vs Newcastle United
Five points from three games have lifted Rafa Benitez’ Magpies up to 13th, but still only two points above the drop zone. Even though the Cherries are tenth, they are only three points ahead so still have work to do. They are on the right track though with seven points from four and will fancy this one.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Swansea City
What a six-pointer this is! Chris Hughton has done a great job keeping Brighton out of the drop zone while Carlos Carvalhal has worked miracles to lift the Swans away from a desperate position. A win for either gives them the momentum they need to push on to the finish line.
West Bromwich Albion vs Huddersfield Town
And what about this one! The Baggies are the only team in danger of being cut adrift, rooted to the bottom and seven points from safety. Every time we think Huddersfield are doomed they win a game. And the battling Terriers did just that to beat Bournemouth last time out. It’s a must, must win for West Brom.
WEEK 28 SUNDAY:
Watford FC vs Everton
Big Sam Allardyce takes his Toffees to Vicarage Road, on 34 points and probably just one win away from safety, so it’s nearly job done. But Everton have lost the last four on tour so may have to wait another week. The Hornets, too, are happier at home, winning two from the last three.
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool can sit back and watch the Sunday game in some comfort. That is if they win.This game won’t be a breeze for Spurs. Mauricio Pochettino’s boys have drawn the last five on their travels while Roy Hodgson has made the Eagles hard to beat since lifting them out of the drop zone. Harry Kane has his work cut out but who’d bet against him?
