Barcelona vs Sevilla
There’s going to be a packed crowd at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid this weekend as the Copa del Rey comes to town.
Barca and Sevilla fans will swarm to the capital in one of the most anticipated football games on the European calendar, and you can join in the fun with Asian Handicap Betting. Barcelona start as favourites to win a fourth consecutive Copa at 1.83 with a -1.00 goal handicap, which puts Sevilla at 2.09; and a straight draw in 90 minutes is available at 4.10.
That was the outcome in their league meeting at the end of March when Vincenzo Montella’s men were denied a 2-0 win by goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in the last two minutes of normal time. But that’s the only occasion in the last five meetings when Sevilla have matched the Catalans, losing the other four and conceding at least two goals every game.
There’ll be hunger on both sides, each recently exiting the Champions League at the quarter-final stage. Sevilla, though, will hold their heads higher after pushing Bayern all the way, while Barca somehow surrendered a three-goal lead to Roma.
Ernesto Valverde’s team will also face another attacking threat in the shape of Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel, while Joaquin Correa has hit five in this competition.
Valverde rested eight players in a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo in preparation for the final, and his defence could be boosted by the fit-again Lucas Digne. Meanwhile, Sevilla defender Simon Kjaer is hoping to be fit.
If so, he’ll need to be in top form to help his team-mates keep Messi and Suarez at bay for a full 90 minutes. But if he can’t, a repeat of the 2016 final when Barca won 2-0 could be on the cards.
