I’m plumping for goals galore in football games this weekend.
Premier League betting is rarely straightforward, and perhaps I am going out on a limb with some of my latest betting tips. But hey, it’s worth a damn good go!
Burnley vs Everton (March 3, 20:30 GMT+8)
Burnley’s season has stalled a little as of late, but it’s only because expectations are so high.
February draws against champions-elect Man City and Southampton have hardly been bad results, and they will want to return to winning ways to complete a league double over the Toffees.
The Merseysiders themselves have largely been in a malaise since the turn of the year but know victory at Turf Moor will move them level on points with the seventh-placed Clarets.
Despite the frustration of some of their followers, manager Sam Allardyce has said pragmatism and points are a priority over performance.
This suggests this could be a dull, tight affair, yet I don’t think so.
My 🌟🌟🌟 tip is over 2.25 goals @ 2.25.
Southampton vs Stoke City (March 3, 23:00 GMT+8)
A battle of two strugglers.
One point between each of them and two other sides in the increasingly tense battle to beat the drop.
Southampton are just about keeping themselves above the drop zone after Manolo Gabbiadini’s last-gasp equaliser at Burnley.
Stoke would have been clear of it themselves had they held on to beat Leicester last weekend.
While Jack Butland’s error gifted them an equaliser, the shot-stopper more than made amends in the match with a series of fine saves.
Southampton have not won at home since November and, while this seems an ideal opportunity to stop that run, I can’t see it happening now either.
My 🌟🌟 tip is over 2.50 goals @ 2.02 with a daring 🌟 prediction of 1X2 Stoke @ 4.60.
Manchester City vs Chelsea (March 5, 00:00 GMT+8)
The reigning champions against the champions-elect.
The title winners against the team who will soon depose them of the crown.
City’s win at Stamford Bridge in late September suggested that Antonio Conte’s team would struggle to retain the Premier League, while City’s League Cup success last weekend – the first trophy Pep Guardiola has won since his arrival in 2016 – will not be the only silverware he enjoys this year.
Conte knows his team cannot afford a second defeat in Manchester in the space of a week if his team is to maintain its push for a top-four spot.
Failure to do so will surely result in Conte not remaining in the job for a third season.
My 🌟🌟 tip is over 2.75 goals @ 1.88 and a 🌟 bet is 1X2 draw @ 3.75.
