Can anyone stop the big run of the mighty Bavarians?

Save their frustrating loss to Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich are once again on course for another dominant season in the Bundesliga. Betting odds are looking pretty good for the Bavarians, and the amount of world-class talent in their squad can make even the biggest European clubs sweat.

Hoffenheim and Dortmund have hit walls over their last five games, so Red Bull-backed Leipzig are the only real competitions for the Bundesliga old boys at the moment. Football games will surely get intense and football betting will be rampant as the January transfer window comes to a close.

WEEK 18 SATURDAY:

Schalke 04 vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Schalke ended the year with a terrible run of form, losing three of their last five games. They may have found a bit of a break with a late win over Ingolstadt, but Frankfurt won’t easily roll over and concede the three points.

Wolfsburg vs Augsburg

Volkswagen Arena will be roaring for their team as the Wolves take on Augsburg in a mid-table clash.

A single point separates the two clubs in the table, but their forms are light-years apart: Augsburg got four points out of a possible nine, while the hosts have won three games in a row. It will be an easy win for Wolfsburg unless Konstantinos Stafylidis and Daniel Baier hold things together.

Ingolstadt vs Hamburger SV

Hamburg messed up their ticket out of the drop zone after a messy defeat away at Wolfsburg. However, they have a better chance of putting a gap between them and Ingolstadt in this away fixture. Their first game ended in a draw, but a few tweaks here and there could help the Red Shorts to victory.

It will be a tight contest, and I believe this match will end in another draw. Punters interested in this bottom-table draw should consider Hamburg +0.50 @ 1.81.

Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich

Werder Bremen may be some distance away from the dreaded relegation zone, but they can only hope to get as much of a draw out of their upcoming match against Bayern Munich. With the Bavarians scoring as much as 11 goals over their last five games, I don’t think Serge Gnabry and Santiago Garcia can hope to keep a potent Bayern attack at bay.

Darmstadt 98 vs Koln

Koln’s dangerous streak in front of the goal is nothing but ancient history for the Billy Goats. They are trying to snap a six-game losing streak that began in November. French target man Anthony Modeste will always be a constant threat to Darmstadt, and the bottom-feeders may give the visitors their first league win.

RB Leipzig vs Hoffenheim

These teams will present some interesting odds to betting aficionados.

Both teams convincingly won their Week 17 games without allowing the competition to score. Sandro Wagner and Timo Werner will be the main focus of their respective defences. This game should be another tight one, and I believe that it will end in a draw. With that being said, I recommend Hoffenheim +0.50 @ 2.16 for maximum rewards.

WEEK 18 SUNDAY:

Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Both of these squads are struggling to find the form that allowed them to play well in the Bundesliga last season. However, Leverkusen look to be the better team compared to their visitors. Hakan Calhanoglu will be a nightmare for the Borussia defence. On the opposite side of the pitch, Ibrahima Traore and Thorgan Hazard will try to score goals against an equally leaky Leverkusen backline.

Freiburg vs Hertha BSC

This Top 10 clash will be a lot more difficult for the hosts than it is for Berlin.

Despite losing 3-1 to Leverkusen, the visitors were able to outplay Freiburg in the second half. Caglar Soyuncu and Pascal Stenzel, important defenders for Christian Streich’s side, may sit out of this game due to injuries. If they don’t walk out of the Schwarzwald-Stadion tunnel before kick-off, this is a done deal for the hosts.

This game would be a bit of a struggle, but Berlin should be able to overrun the hosts. Berlin +0.25 @ 1.80 is a perfect balance of risk and reward.

WEEK 18 MONDAY:

Mainz 05 vs Borussia Dortmund

This is another match for Dortmund to draw.

Mainz only won four out of a possible 15 points over a period of two months. Meanwhile, Dortmund snapped their frustrating streak of draws with a win against Werder Bremen. While Marco Reus’s injury will leave Thomas Tuchel without a viable weapon, he has more than enough players to take care of Mainz.
