Bianconeri Rivals can Get on with Big Wins

League leaders Inter kick off the next round of matches in Serie A, with a chance to put pressure on Juventus with an early victory.

The Old Lady is highly-fancied by football betting pundits to win a seventh consecutive Scudetto; our handicap betting offer is 2.35 on Max Allegri’s men, with Napoli the slight favourites at 2.10 and leaders Inter out at 6.00.

WEEK 17 SATURDAY:

Inter Milan vs Udinese

At betting odds of 1.97 with a -1.50 handicap Luciano Spalletti’s Inter should extend their lead at the top to four points, and five points over reigning champions Juve. But they did need a penalty-shoot-out to beat Serie C side Pordenone in the Coppa Italia in midweek, and 13th placed Udinese arrive with back-to-back wins.

WEEK 17 SUNDAY:

Torino vs Napoli

Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli also play ahead of Juventus but face a tricky visit to Turin, aiming to dispel fears that their season is stuttering. Torino are unbeaten in seven, while Napoli are without a win in three. But the favourites are at 1.88 to win with a -0.75 handicap.

AS Roma vs Cagliari

Roma can draw level with Juventus, before the Bianconeri play, with a win over Cagliari, and this, on the face of it, is the easiest of the leading pack’s weekend tasks. The visitors are without a victory in four, but did win in Udinese a month ago.

Hellas Verona vs AC Milan

Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has copped a fair amount of criticism from a section of Rossoneri fans but he shouldn’t shoulder all the blame for Milan’s unimpressive season so far. They can’t afford to slip up at 19th placed Verona though if they are to stay in the Europa hunt.

Bologna vs Juventus

Juventus had the chance to go top last week but couldn’t breach the Inter defence in Turin and so must probably win in Bologna to avoid slipping further behind. The hosts sit comfortably in 11th but have only one win in their last four home games.

Sampdoria vs Sassuolo

Fabio Quagliarella has nine goals for the hosts after bagging a double last week. However, Sampdoria threw away a two-goal lead and will be determined not to be so wasteful against struggling Sassuolo. The visitors have won three in six on the road though.

Fiorentina vs Genoa

It was the Viola that frustrated Napoli last week, holding the favourites to a goalless draw in Naples. Still, Fiorentina should be wary of taking Genoa lightly. After a poor start to the campaign, the visitors are up to 16th and have had back-to-back away wins.

Crotone vs Chievo

17th-placed Crotone are on a slippery slide, having lost four on the run and just a point above the drop zone. Chievo are in 12th place and without a win in three in all competitions but with striker Roberto Inglese on six goals, should have enough threat to continue Crotone’s woes.

WEEK 17 MONDAY:

Atalanta vs Lazio

Lazio blew their chance to advance to top four last week after losing to Torino when top scorer Ciro Immobile was sent off but will now be keen to make amends in Atalanta. The hosts are in eighth and coming into form with four wins in five, in all competitions.

Benevento vs SPAL

The bottom of the table clash sees 20th-placed Benevento hoping to add to their single point and a home game against 18th-placed SPAL looks like an opportunity. Their fellow new boys are without a win in six. I can see another point coming!
