There’s a big, big game at Wembley this midweek and it could see an early Champions League exit for another one of the big guns when Spurs host Juventus.
In the Turin leg, Spurs were the first team to avoid defeat to the Bianconeri since 9th December, and the betting odds are in favour of them doing it again. The tie seemed all but lost at 2-0 but goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen gave Spurs the advantage.
In our other match, Asian Handicap Betting is the only way to play, as cup favourites Manchester City have a four-goal start when Basel comes to town.
Tottenham Hotspur vs (2-2 on agg.) Juventus
Gianluigi Buffon is the man Spurs have to beat again unless they can keep a clean sheet themselves, but that will be difficult. Harry Kane does most of the scoring for Spurs, with 24 goals in the league and seven in the Champions League, whereas Juve have a dual threat in the form of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain who have netted 15 and 14 in Serie A respectively. Max Allegri will also expect Federico Bernardeschi to cause problems to the Spurs’ backline.
I can’t see a 0-0 at Wembley, can you?
Manchester City vs (4-0 on agg.) FC Basel
Like Liverpool, Manchester City already have their tie won. They are also on the crest of a wave having gone 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League as well as winning the EFL Cup, with two 3-0 victories against a talented Arsenal side. Even though Pep Guardiola will rotate his squad, the Sky Blues should have too much for Basel.
What can the Swiss do about it? Well, since losing to City 0-4, they have had two reversals in domestic football, both without scoring. Hmm.
