Davide Zappacosta scored the pick of the goals with a screamer from the right wing. That takes the Blues to the top of Group C as Roma and Atletico Madrid played out a goalless draw.
The big teams thrived again on Wednesday with Real Madrid taking control of Group H with a 3-0 win against Apoel Nicosia; Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace as Los Blancos coasted home. And Harry Kane scored two also as Spurs got off to a flyer with a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester City stormed to the top of Group F with a 0-4 win in Feyenoord, John Stones the unlikely scorer of two, while Shakhtar Donetsk grabbed an early surprise win with a 2-1 win at home to Napoli.
Liverpool dominated the game at home to Sevilla in their Group E opener, but came away with a 2-2 draw after conceding a late equaliser, while Maribor and Spartak Moscow also shared the spoils, playing out a 1-1 draw.
And Besiktas sprung a surprise in Group G, with a 1-3 win away at Porto, while RB Leipzig, in their first appearance in the Champions League, earned a point in a 1-1 draw with a quality Monaco side.
