Scandinivian rivals Denmark and Finland are set to go toe-to-toe in Copenhagen as Euro 2020 finally kicks off this weekend.
It has been a while since these two countries met in an international setting and there are huge stakes involved heading into this much-awaited game.
Denmark and Finland are both in Group B alongside Belgium and Russia. Belgium, who are the top-ranked team in the world, are the heavy favourites to win the group which leaves the second place open and up for grabs.
The Danes look to be the favourites as well in Group B since they’re considered as the dark horses for this tournament. Kasper Hjulmand’s men are banging in form as shown in their international games this year.

Denmark like their chances in Group B
The Danes go into the tournament brimming with confidence since they are in superb form.
Since losing 4-2 to Belgium in the UEFA Nations League last November, Denmark went five matches undefeated – with impressive wins over Moldova, Israel, Austria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina along with drawing 1-1 against Germany.
Kasper Hjulmand has only been at the coaching helm for less than a year but the squad he inherited has immense experience which should serve them well for this competition.
They have a ton of quality in all areas of the pitch. Denmark are to be led once more by team captain Kasper Schmeichel and their spine will be hard to break down with the likes of Simon Kjaer, Andreas Christensen, and Jannik Vestergaard.
Attacking out front will be Yussuf Poulsen, Robert Skov, Martin Braithwaite, Andreas Skov Olsen and Kasper Dolberg, and all of them are capable of producing Euro 2020 highlights.
But the biggest advantage that the Danes have for this match is their deep midfield with the likes of Thomas Delaney, Christian Eriksen, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg pulling the strings.

The Finns are to be led by Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki who is their best attacker and supporting him there will be Union Berlin’s Joel Pohjanpalo and Brentford’s Marcus Forss.
Given their lack of quality compared to the Danes, Finland are expected to have a defencive approach for this match.
Lukas Hradecky is their first-choice goalkeeper while their midfield is anchored by Tim Sparv, Glen Kamara, and Robin Lod. All of them will play key roles since they’ll be pushed to the limit by the predatory Danes.

The Danes boast a dominant record over the Finns, giving them the psychological edge in Copenhagen.
In their 59 matches together, Denmark have won 38 fixtures, whereas Finland have only won 11 times along with 10 draws.
