NBA: Kevin Durant and James Harden Unveil New Partnership

Kevin Durant and James Harden are finally teammates again and they will play their first game together since the 2012 NBA season when they host the Magic tomorrow.

Harden was brought in after the Nets completed a blockbuster deal with the Rockets, Pacers, and Cavaliers, one day after he expressed his discontentment playing for the Rockets.

Unfortunately for the fans, Kyrie Irving won’t play tomorrow due to health and safety protocols. So seeing the three of them share the floor will have to wait for now.

Elsewhere, the game between the Suns and Pacers is postponed. However, we still have six fun matches to look forward to.

Today at SBOTOP, let’s preview them one by one.

Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs

With James Harden now gone, the Rockets can finally move on and they will look to compound the Spurs’ woes at home.

The Spurs are currently 1-4 at home and they lost the first game of their mini-series to the Rockets as they latter rallied without their key players.

John Wall and Eric Gordon were absent due to injuries, so they relied on Christian Wood to deliver the goods.

The lanky forward dropped 27 points and 15 rebounds in the victory and he was backstopped by Sterling Brown and Jae’Sean Tate who added 23 and 13 markers.

Meanwhile, Keldon Johnson and Lonnie Walker IV were the bright spots for San Antonio as they had 29 and 16 points in the said game.

John Wall will remain on the sidelines due to knee soreness and that should give the Spurs a slight edge in the NBA 2021 odds.

Orlando Magic @ Brooklyn Nets

The Nets usher in a new era as James Harden will play his first game in Black and White tomorrow.

Brooklyn will meet a slumping Orlando team who is currently on a four-game slide, which is in stark contrast to their hot start earlier this season.

Since Markelle Fultz tore his ACL, the Magic have struggled on both sides of the floor.

The Magic have yet to score over 100 points in their last four games while they’ve conceded an alarming average of 122.3 points per game.

Double-double threat Nikola Vucevic struggled in their last match against the rested Boston Celtics, but he will aim to bounce back in order to help his squad arrest their skid.

NBA duo Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are expected to do heavy lifting for Portland Trail Blazers’ clash against Atlanta Hawks

Charlotte Hornets @ Toronto Raptors

The Hornets and Raptors will meet for the second straight time tomorrow at the Amalie Arena.

This will be Game 2 of their mini-series to which Toronto currently own the upper hand having won the first game.

In the said match, Chris Boucher came off the bench and notched 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet combined for 33 markers.

Meanwhile, Terry Rozier and PJ Washington led the Hornets with 22 and 20 respectively in the losing effort.

The 2019 NBA champions are seeking to build momentum with another victory in order to add more positive NBA 2021 results to their campaign.

Detroit Pistons @ Miami Heat

The Pistons plan to end their road hoodoo when they visit the Heat at the American Airlines Arena.

Detroit are coming into this game 0-4 on the road and this will be the first time that they’ll face Miami this 2020/21 season.

The Dwane Casey-mentored squad looks to have a decent chance in this contest since the Heat roster is ravaged with injuries and COVID-19.

Jimmy Butler, Avery Bradley, Kendrick Nunn, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic are all out due to health and safety protocols, while Meyers Leonard is nursing a shoulder knock.

Meanwhile, the Pistons only have Killian Hayes (hip) and Derrick Rose (knee, day-to-day) in their injury list.

Philadelphia Sixers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis will stake their ongoing winning streak when they host Philadelphia tomorrow.

The Grizzlies have adjusted well without their star point guard Ja Morant, with impressive wins over the Timberwolves, Cavaliers, and the Nets.

The Sixers, on the other hand, are winners of two straight after their mini-series versus the Heat.

Besides the usual production of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, other Sixers such as Danny Green, Shake Milton, and Tyrese Maxey have all been delivering for head coach Doc Rivers.

Atlanta Hawks @ Portland Trail Blazers

The Hawks need to regain their footing as they head into a showdown versus the Blazers.

Atlanta have lost five of their last six and it doesn’t help that their franchise cornerstone in Trae Young has struggled in shooting from the field.

The 22-year-old point guard only shot 1-for-11 en route to four measly points during their humiliating defeat versus the Jazz.

As for the Blazers, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are expected to do the heavy lifting once more as Jusuf Nurkic suffered a broken right wrist in the last time out.
