NBA Recap: Clutch Jokic Strikes Again, Raptors Snap Lakers’ Win Streak

The NBA‘s eight-game Sunday slate delivered in a big way once again. There were a couple of overtime thrillers, one of which saw Nikola Jokic produce in the clutch once again to hand the streaking Nuggets another win.

Meanwhile, the Kyle Lowry-less Toronto Raptors defied the NBA 2019 betting odds by taking down the red-hot Los Angeles Lakers on the road.

Those are just two of the top stories that SBOBET NBA fans ought to know from another action-packed day of hoops.

Denver Nuggets 100-98 (OT) Minnesota Timberwolves

Nikola Jokic had himself quite the weekend making a couple of notable NBA 2019 highlights. After hitting a late shot to help seal a terrific come-from-behind win over Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, Jokic again hit the game-winning jumper to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime on Sunday.

The Serbian big man has had a slow start to the season, averaging just over 16 points on 46 per cent shooting. He once again didn’t shoot well against the Wolves (9-23 FG, 1-7 3-PT FG), but he made the shot the mattered to give the Nuggets their fourth consecutive win.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins continued his strong play of late. The Wolves forward is averaging 28 points and shooting 40 per cent on 3-pointers in five games this month.

Indiana Pacers 109-102 Orlando Magic

The Pacers picked up yet another win in Orlando as they had too much for the Magic. Domantas Sabonis had 21 points to lead a well-balanced Pacers attack which saw three other players finish with at least 18 points.

Magic guard Evan Fournier led the way with 22 points on 6-of-8 from beyond the arc, while Nikola Vucevic added 18 points and 17 rebounds. Orlando have now lost five of their last six games.

As for the Packers, they have won three games in a row and six of their last seven after starting out the season 0-3.

Charlotte Hornets 106-114 Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers finally snapped their three-game losing skid as they took care of the Charlotte Hornets at home.

With Ben Simmons still out of the lineup with a shoulder injury, Joel Embiid led the way with 18 points and nine rebounds in just 26 minutes of action. Furkan Korkmaz added 17 points off the bench, while Al Horford and Tobias Harris added 15 and 14, respectively.

Cody Zeller paced the Hornets with 24 points, with guards Devonte Graham and Malik Monk combining for 34 points off the bench. The streaky Hornets have now lost three in a row, won three in a row and lost three in a row in their last nine games.

Milwaukee Bucks 121-119 Oklahoma City Thunder

Giannis Antetokoumpo continued his remarkable November by scoring 35 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Bucks to a hard-fought road win over the Thunder.

The reigning MVP is averaging 33.5 points and 14.6 rebounds through seven games this month, with the Bucks going 6-1 during that span. The NBA 2019 odds have the Greek Freak as the favourite to win the award again, and

Sixth man Dennis Schroder led the Thunder with 25 points off the bench and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Cleveland Cavaliers 108-87 New York Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers scored their most convincing win of the season to date with a 21-point thrashing of the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Collin Sexton scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Cavs, who are in the midst of their first winning streak of the season. They previously beat the Washington Wizards, who are just above the Knicks at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Julius Randle had 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Knicks, his third-straight game of 20 or more points. Meanwhile, RJ Barrett‘s slump continued as he had just nine points. The rookie guard is averaging just 13 points on 32 per cent shooting through five games this month.

Brooklyn Nets 112-138 Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns bounced back from their disappointing defeat to the Heat to blow out the Brooklyn Nets at home.

Devin Booker, who’s having a brilliant season thus far, had another fine game with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting with nine assists. Ricky Rubio also starred with 22 points and 12 assists, while five other Suns scored in double digits.

Meanwhile, Nets star Kyrie Irving finished with just 15 points in 25 minutes, his lowest scoring output by far this season.

Atlanta Hawks 113-124 (OT) Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers finally snapped their four-game losing skid as they outlasted the Atlanta Hawks in overtime.

Hawks guard Trae Young, who’s having a breakout season, led the way with 35 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists. Kevin Huerter added 15 points, including two clutch baskets to send the game to overtime.

But the Blazers took over in the extra period as they outscored Atlanta, 17-6. Damian Lillard paced Portland with 30 points, while three other Blazers — CJ McCollum, Hassan Whiteside, and Anfernee Simons — had 20 or more points.

Toronto Raptors 113-104 Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles’ Lakers’ seven-game win streak is no more. The defending champion Toronto Raptors went into Staples Center to pick up the big road win despite missing star point guard Kyle Lowry.

Fred VanVleet starred in Lowry’s absence as he had 23 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists. Pascal Siakam added 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 27 points and LeBron James had a triple-double. However, he had just 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting, his lowest scoring output of the season.
